New edition. This biography first appeared as a series of articles in The Builder in 1925 and was subsequently reprinted unchanged in 1935 by the Oxford University Press. This edition incorporates some corrections and hitherto unpublished material from the author's MS in the RIBA Library. Navy blue hardcover with title in gilt on spine. Condition: Very good, binding sound, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Very good, with light shelfwear. 323pp. 42 b/w plates. Philip Webb (1831-1915) was a close colleague and friend of William Morris, and a co-founder of the famous "Firm". He had a great influence on domestic architecture in England during the latter part of the 19th century and was the main proponent of the practical conservation policies of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. Scarce.
