This catalogue was produced to accompany the exhibition held at The City Museum and Art Gallery, Birmingham from 11 February to 21 March 1982 which then toured to the Fine Art Society, London. It was the first exhibition devoted to all aspects of the work of Arthur and Georgie Gaskin, and the first covering Arthur's artistic output since the Memorial Exhibition of 1929. Gaskin (1862-1928) and his wife Georgie Gaskin (1868-1934) were members of the Birmingham Group of Artist-Craftsmen, which sought to apply the principles of the Arts and Crafts movement across the decorative arts. Like many of the group, Gaskin studied at the Birmingham School of Art under Edward R. Taylor and later taught there. Scarce.
